Appearance

The Alaskan Klee Kai is a miniature version of the Alaskan Husky.

  • Teeth: Full complement of strong white teeth meeting in a scissor bite.

  • Eyes: Medium size and may be any color or combination of colors, with almond-shaped eyes being the most desirable.

  • Ears: Strongly erect and pointed upward, well-furred, and triangular in shape.

  • Neck: Medium in length, arched, and carried proudly when the dog is standing.

  • Body: The length of the body is slightly longer than the height, with the withers just slightly higher than the croup. The top line of the back is level from just behind the withers to the loin, and the sloping croup is never too steep.

  • Feet: Oval in shape and well-knuckled up, with thickly cushioned and well-furred pads between the toes and pads.

  • Tail: Well-furred and set on just below the level of the topline, with the preferred tail carriage being a loose, natural curl.

  • Coat: Double coat and of sufficient length to give a well-furred appearance, and coat colors in shades of black, gray, or red are acceptable.
